Before there was a Louisiana State University in New Orleans,
there was a Naval Air Station. Have you ever taken a class at UNO? Do you have a story to share? Do you have photographs or other memorabilia that would help to document UNO’s fifty years? Can you help us identify people in photos or do you remember significant events? There are several ways to get in touch with us to share information about UNO.
The Louisiana and Special Collections Department at the Earl K. Long Library has a tremendous collection of historical material covering the beginnings of the university and its growth throughout the years. Also, they have agreed to help by reviewing contributions for possible inclusion in the Fifty Year History. Special thanks to the Earl K. Long Library, particularly Dr. Florence Jumonville, Chair of the Louisiana and Special Collections Department.
